The community of Houlton Maine dates back to 1805.

Established long before Maine became a state. Joseph Houlton traveled north from Salem, Massachusetts.  Houlton, incorporated in4th Parade Houlton Maine1831, is the Shiretown (or County Seat) of Aroostook County.
