Maine Lake Boating. Orient Is Full Of Waterfront Fun Options.

Lots of lakes of all waterfront sizes. Early settlers to Orient on April 9th, 1856 organized the township originally labeled T9 R1 or Monroe and Orient Gore.

The name Orient was picked because it is as East as you can go up against the province of New Brunswick Canada.

Plus East Grand Lake has a jagged, watery International boundary line jutting east into this 16,000 plus acre lake. The population of Orient Maine now is 147 but don’t let the number fool you.

Summer vacation residents here part time make the numbers swell. Snow birds return and tourists arrive each spring.

Lumbering, farming, tourism are the big Orient Maine industries.

Besides one of Maine’s largest East Grand Lake, Deering, Brackett, North Lakes are other waterfront recreational options.

With our high speed Internet connections, telecommuting and working remotely online on your out of state job is an option when your simple week’s vacation turns to desire to be a full time Maine resident.
